LEED Air Filters - Green Building Filters

The LEED Green Building Rating System represents the US Green Building Council's effort to provide a national standard for green buildings. 5 Star Filter recomends air filters shown here to support the best technology incorporated into filters providing low energy usage, maximum filtration efficiency and long life to gain maximum points toward LEED certification. Below we have listed primary areas of the LEED certification program and suggested high quality filters to gain points from each.

Indoor Environmental Quality
Install MERV 8 filters during contruction in all filter grills, 2 week flush after completion (HiE40)
Use MERV 13 filters or better for general building air filtration (Purogreen 13)
Clean smoking room air with chemical media (carbon products)
Vent smoking room air to the outside through a HEPA filter (Ultra Cell)

Upgrade general building filtration to MERV 14 or 15 air filters with lower pressure drop (Dominator)
